I read every message I receive and I reply to most of them, usually within a week. There is no assistant, no ticketing system and no auto-responder in between. It comes straight to me.
Write to maha.alkumaish.one@gmail.com. Put something specific in the subject line. "Question about the coffee experiment" will get a faster reply than "hello".
What I am genuinely useful for
You ran one of these experiments and got a different result
This is the message I most want to receive, and it is the reason this page exists.
Every experiment on this site is a sample of one. If you tried the 15-minute reset and it collapsed in week two, or you stopped coffee and felt terrible for a fortnight, or your storage comparison produced a completely different winner, that is genuinely interesting to me. Tell me what you did, how long you did it for, and what happened. If it contradicts something I have published, I will say so publicly rather than quietly ignoring it.
You spotted an error
A figure that does not reconcile, a broken link, a claim that is wrong, a photograph that is mislabelled. Please tell me. I check the arithmetic before publishing and I still make mistakes.
When a correction changes something meaningful, I note it in the post itself rather than editing silently. If you are the person who spotted it, I will credit you unless you ask me not to.
You have a question about the method
How I logged something, how I set up a comparison, why I chose a particular period for a test, how I decided what to score. I am happy to explain any of it. The method is the part of this blog I am most confident about, and it is not a secret.
You want to use something from the site
Short quotations with a link back are fine and do not need permission. Republishing a full post, or using photographs from the site, needs an email first. I almost always say yes to reasonable requests from other bloggers and educators.
What I cannot help with
I am listing these so you do not waste your time writing them, and so you do not read a silence as rudeness.
Personal medical, financial or legal advice
I am not qualified to give it, and anything I said would be a stranger's opinion with a byline attached. If your question is about your health, your money or your legal position, please take it to someone qualified to answer it. The disclaimer explains this at more length.
Guest posts, link insertions and paid placements
I do not accept them at any price, and I have never accepted one. Please do not send the pitch. It will not be answered and it will not be published.
This is practical rather than moral. The entire value of this blog is that the experiments were run by the person writing about them. A guest post about someone else's kitchen would break that in a way no amount of editing could fix.
Advertising enquiries
The site runs display advertising through Google AdSense. I do not sell placements directly, I do not run sponsored content, and I cannot arrange for a specific ad to appear on a specific post.
Free work and product reviews
I am not able to review products for free, test products on request, write about a service in exchange for access, or consult on someone else's blog. I am flattered when people ask, and the answer is still no.
Response times
I aim to reply within a week. Most messages get an answer in two or three days. Detailed questions about method take longer, because they need a proper answer rather than a quick one.
If you have not heard back after ten days, it is more likely the message went astray than that I am ignoring you. Send it again.
Data and privacy
If you email me, I receive your name, your email address and whatever you write. I keep it only as long as it takes to deal with your message, and I do not add you to any mailing list. There is no newsletter on this site.
For anything relating to your data, including requests to see it or have it deleted, the privacy policy sets out how to make that request and what happens next.
If you want to complain
If something on this site is wrong, misleading, or has caused you a problem, I would rather hear about it directly than read about it elsewhere. Write to me with the specific post and the specific issue, and I will take it seriously.
If you believe the site has handled your personal data improperly and you are not satisfied with my response, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. The privacy policy explains how to do that.
